MIDDLEPORT — Matt Roberts had 15 strikeouts and Casey Rother had four RBIs as Tamaqua beat Schuylkill Valley 9-1 on Thursday in a Schuylkill-Berks American Legion League game.
Brad Fedor and Adam Bates each had two hits and an RBI for the Blue Sox in their first action of the Legion season.
Jeff Yordy had two hits to lead the Falcons, who fall to 0-2.

Nate Robison hit a walk-off single in the bottom of the ninth to lift Pottsville by Exeter in a Junior Legion Prep League game.
Jake Ferhat had three hits, including a double, for Pottsville, while Daulton Mates added two hits. Ferhat also pitched four shutout innings after Exeter scored a run apiece in the first and second innings.
Damon Yost was hit by a pitch in the ninth and advanced on a sacrifice bunt before scoring the winning run on Robison’s single.
