Mother Nature cranked up the heat and humidity for the area’s football teams Monday.
On one of the hottest days of the summer, all 20 area high school football teams began preseason two-a-day practices as Monday marked the first official day of practice for all PIAA fall sports.
Local gridiron teams will hold their first preseason scrimmages Saturday morning, with their second scrimmages slated for either Thursday, Aug. 27, or Friday, Aug. 28. The season begins Friday, Sept. 4.
