FOUNTAIN SPRINGS — Austin Roseberry placed first with a time of 18 minutes, 21 seconds, as North Schuylkill’s boys’ cross country team began its dual-meet season Wednesday with a 15-50 victory over Minersville.

Led by Roseberry, the Spartans finished with the top six runners.

Chris McCormick, Matt McCormick, Lenny Bolinsky, Sean McCabe and George Anthony rounded out the top six for the Spartans in a span of 1:40.

Samuel DiBiase led the Miners with a seventh-place finish in 20:12.

Raiders cruise past Hurricanes, Wave

Adam Melnick won with a time of 16:19 as Tamaqua took the top five spots against Schuylkill Haven and Nativity in a tri-meet atop Lawton’s Hill.

Brad Clemson, Joseph Nortavage, Raymond Kinder and Andrew Tite rounded out the top five for the Blue Raiders, who beat the Hurricanes 15-42 and the Green Wave 15-50.

Ian McGowan finished in seventh place at 18:13, leading Schuylkill Haven over Nativity 15-50.

Brett Rushannon led the Green Wave with a sixth-place finish and a time of 17:45.

SHENANDOAH — Derek Mosteller won with a time of 20:04 as Blue Mountain took the top four spots in its non-league win over Shenandoah Valley.

Jacob Kluge, Thomas Levkulic and Christian Menuchak filled out the rest of the Eagles’ top four.

Zack Link led the Blue Devils with a fifth-place finish in 21:24, and Brandon Stasulli followed in sixth place.

Indians sweep Tide, Wreckers

LEHIGHTON — Michael Blacketter placed first in 18:38, and Lehighton took four of the top five spots to beat Weatherly 18-45 and Pottsville 15-50 at a non-league tri-meet.

Trent Frey finished second for the Indians, while Luke Fisher and Anthony Tavellas came in fourth and fifth, respectively.

Jared Hinkle finished in third placed with a time of 19:34 as the Wreckers topped the Tide 15-50.

Tymothy Nevadomsky led Pottsville with an 11th-place finish in 22:02.

Olympians sweep Colts, Rams

ESPY — Jim Thorpe finished 1-2-3-4, with Dylan Bucior taking the top spot in 17:55 as the Olympians downed Marian 17-38 and Columbia-Montour Vo-Tech 16-39 in a non-league tri-meet.

Ben Saxon, Chris Valdez and Jian Gentile rounded out the Olympians’ top four.

Eddie Pulaski placed fifth in 20:39 to lead the Colts over the Rams 20-35.

Marcus Joline led CMVT with a time of 21:01 to finish in seventh place.

Tamaqua finished 1-2-3-4, with Monika Shimko leading the way in 19:00. Kailee Carroll, Sarah Maue and Nicole Wasserleben rounded out the top four as the Blue Raiders defeated Nativity 15-50 and Schuylkill Haven 15-50 in a non-league tri-meet atop Lawton’s Hill.

Rachel Brennan led the Hurricanes with an 11th-place finish in 23:05 as Schuylkill Haven beat the Green Wave 15-50.

Joahlana Najunas came in fifth, leading Nativity with a time of 20:34.

Chloe Stravinsky led the Spartans with a second-place finish in 23:44, while Brinn DeAngelo and Nikki Kane came in fourth and fifth, respectively.

LEHIGHTON — Brenna Nagle led Pottsville with a second-place finish in 23:57 as the Tide edged Lehighton 28-29 and Weatherly 15-48 in a non-league tri-meet.

Ashley Pogash and Carissa Kiapes finished fourth and fifth, respectively, for Pottsville.

Cera Gaston came in first with a time of 22:40, and Piper DeMatte placed third as the Indians topped the Wreckers 18-31.

Ericka Shuman led Weatherly, finishing 11th overall with a time of 29:58.

Kaylee Kovac and Robbyn Loyd finished fourth and fifth, respectively for the Olympians.

Tina Capparell placed second with a time of 22:26, and Nicole Capparell finished third to give the Fillies a 15-50 win over the Rams.

Mahogony Smith led CMVT with a 15th-place finish in 32:30.
