Haven resident

Kay Russell of Schuylkill Haven is this year’s recipient of the “Friend of the Sportsmen Award” presented annually by the Schuylkill County Sportsmen’s Association. Russell was presented with her award at Saturday’s SCSA banquet at the Community Fire Company, Landingville.

In her position as president of the Friends of Schuylkill Park and Recreation, Russell approved a $500,000 grant for Sweet Arrow Lake County Park and several other grants for the improvement of the park. In addition, she has donated fish the last three years for the Family Fun Fish Day held at Sweet Arrow Lake.
