High school boys' soccer roundup for Sept. 12, 2015

JENKINTOWN — Quarterback Andres Madden passed for 214 yards and five touchdowns as Jenkintown stormed past Nativity 52-15 in a non-league high school football game Saturday.

Ryan McDonald threw for two TDs for Nativity (0-2), a 67-yard pass to Justin Steffan in the first quarter and a 50-yard pass to Travis Hunyara in the second quarter.

Eric Nelson added a 22-yard field goal on the final play of the first half for the Green Wave, who trailed 29-15 at the half.

Jenkintown (2-0) closed the game with 23 unanswered points as Madden completed a 26-yard TD pass to Justin Nusbaum, Nusbaum kicked a 27-yard field goal and Steven Charlemagne and Christian Solis added touchdown runs.

Greg Farina had three touchdown catches for the Drakes, finishing with four catches for 166 yards. Madden also rushed for 81 yards, pacing a Jenkintown ground game that gained 200 yards.

ELVERSON — Cameron Rice scored two goals to lead host Twin Valley to a 4-0 win over Blue Mountain in the championship game of the Raider Classic.

In the semifinals, Jon Benner had one goal and one assist as the Eagles edged Brandywine Heights 3-2.

Twin Valley defeated Garden Spot 2-1 in the other semifinal.

LEHIGHTON — Zach Christoff and Joe Marks scored second-half goals as the Indians rallied past the Cardinals in a Schuylkill League Division I game.

Dan Baka also scored for Lehighton, but goals by Brandon Frantz and Michael Elo gave Pine Grove a 2-1 halftime lead.

Christoff tied the game a minute into the second half, and Marks’ goal at 62:25 proved to be the game-winner.

Hawks win Seitzinger Tournament title

HAMBURG — Alex McDonald and Zach Loeb each scored second-half goals as Hamburg downed Wyomissing 2-1 in the championship game of the Taylor N. Seitzinger Memorial Tournament on Hawk Hill.

The Hawks reached the finals by beating Eastern York in a shootout, 6-5, in the semifinals when the two played to a 1-1 tie after regulation.

In the opener, Logan Adams saved the final two shots of the shootout, while Nate Parent put in the game- winner during the Hawks’ victory.
