TAMAQUA — Jon Benner rewrote the prestigious Blue Mountain boys’ soccer history book Tuesday night.
Benner scored four goals in the Eagles’ 8-2 win over Tamaqua to break the school record for single-season scoring and tie the record for career scoring.
The junior forward upped his season haul to 29 goals to pass Keith Wagner’s 27 and brought his career total to 57 to knot him with Jeff St. George.
Cam Greenawalt added two goals and an assist for Blue Mountain on Tuesday, while Angus Fortune pitched in a goal and two assists.
Robbie Stidham led Tamaqua with a goal and an assist. His goal came with seven seconds left in the game.

WEATHERLY — Dawson Evitts scored in the 78th minute as the Hurricanes locked up the Division II wild card, squeezing out a victory over the Wreckers.
Evitts took a pass from Connor Griffiths near the edge of the penalty area, then dribbled past two defenders and slipped the ball behind Weatherly keeper Zach Peiser, who made nine saves to keep his side in the contest.
Haven’s opponent in the Schuylkill League playoffs will be determined after the league finale Thursday, as only a point separates Division I leader Lehighton and second-place Blue Mountain.

JIM THORPE — Joe Marks tallied four goals and scored a natural hat trick in the second half to help the Indians pull away from the Olympians for a Division I victory.
Frank Bokan scored twice and assisted on all three of Marks’ second-half goals. Tyler Dietz made four saves in goal to keep a clean sheet.
The win keeps Lehighton one point ahead of Blue Mountain for the Division I lead before Thursday’s league finale.
