TAMAQUA - Mike Kuperavage went 2-for-3, including a double, scored two runs and drove in a run as Pottsville earned its first win of the season, beating Tamaqua 6-4 in a Schuylkill-Berks Legion contest Wednesday night.
John Toomey tossed six strong innings, scattering just three hits and allowing only one earned run for the victory.
Luke Matsago hit a home run and drove in three runs for the Blue Sox.

VALLEY VIEW - Vinnie Fanelli collected a pair of hits to go along with two RBIs as the A's scored four runs in the fourth inning to pull away from the West Enders for a North Division win.
Owen Daniel, Hunter Bordner and Travis Crider compiled two hits apiece for Valley View.
North Division Player of the Week
Pine Grove's Jed Blankenhorn has been named Schuylkill-Berks Legion Baseball North Division Player of the Week for the period of June 1-8 by the league's coaches.
In two games, Blankenhorn went 3-for-8 with a run scored, three RBIs and a double at the plate.
He also pitched seven innings, surrendering just one hit and zero earned runs with one strikeout.

AUBURN - Brandon Baver's three-run triple in the sixth inning broke open a tight game as the A's defeated Kutztown at Auburn Memorial Park for their fourth straight win.
The game was scoreless until Blayne Moyer's RBI single in the fifth inning gave Southern Area a 1-0 lead. The A's took control with a five-run sixth, with Baver's hit the big blow.
Justin Hammer tossed a complete-game three-hitter, striking out seven.
Oley/Topton 6 Pottsville 1
Gavin Hinchliffe had an RBI single in the third inning to drive in Eric Wapinsky to score Pottsville's only run of the game against Oley/Topton at Steidle Field.
Michael O'Pake and Josh Holobetz each had a single for Pottsville (0-7). Oley/Topton is now 4-4.
