TOWER CITY - The Williams Valley High School athletic department would like to inform all fans that plan to attend Friday's PIAA Class A state softball championship that bags, backpacks and purses are not allowed inside Penn State University's Nittany Lions Softball Park.
The District 11 champion Vikings will face District 7 champion Neshannock at 3 p.m. Friday for the state championship. The game will not be televised live, but will be shown taped on PCN at 6 p.m. Saturday and 1:30 a.m. Sunday morning. Tickets for the game cost $8 for adults and $4 for students.

INDIANAPOLIS - Three local boys were members of the Pennsylvania Schoolboy Wrestling Team that recently won a national dual championship and finished second in another.
The squad, for wrestlers ages 12-14, won the Greco-Roman national title with a 39-36 victory over Illinois. In the freestyle finals, Illinois topped Pennsylvania 41-34.
Members of the team included Blue Mountain's Jake Hendricks, Minersville's Connor Kievman and Tamaqua's Tanner McHugh.
STATE COLLEGE - Penn State's home opener Sept. 7 against Eastern Michigan will kick off at noon, the school announced Wednesday.
The game will be televised by the Big Ten Network.
Penn State begins its 2013 season Aug. 31 with a 3:30 p.m. game against Syracuse at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J.
After Eastern Michigan, the Nittany Lions' schedule includes: Sept. 14, Central Florida, 6 p.m.; Sept. 21, Kent State; Oct. 5, at Indiana; Oct. 12, Michigan, 5 p.m.; Oct. 26, at Ohio State, 8 p.m.; Nov. 2, Illinois; Nov. 9, at Minnesota; Nov. 16, Purdue; Nov. 23, Nebraska; Nov. 30, at Wisconsin.
