TAMAQUA — Kayley Kovac poured in a game-high 27 points to lead Jim Thorpe to a 72-39 rout of Tamaqua in the Schuylkill League Division I girls’ basketball opener Wednesday night.

Payton Kovac contributed 12 points, Alexys Naranjo tallied 11 and Kaitlyn Ohl totaled 10 for Jim Thorpe, which sped to a 31-9 halftime advantage.

Courtney Hoffman paced the Blue Raiders with 13 points, while Kayla Sherry added 11.
