BLOOMSBURG - Richie Bentz posted a pair of pins at 113 pounds as seven Pottsville wrestlers advanced to the semifinals Friday at the DKI Wrestling Tournament.
Luke Gardner (120), Nathan Cromyak (126), Tyler Deiter (138), Kody Stencovage (145), Kolby Kleckner (170) and Charlie Geiger (285) also made the final four. The Tide had three wrestlers alive in the consolations.
Bloomsburg, Canton, Hanover Area, Mahanoy Area, Wilkes-Barre Meyers, Montgomery, Mount Carmel, Pine Grove, Pottsville, Schuylkill Haven, Sullivan County, Tamaqua, Troy, Warrior Run, Wilkes-Barre GAR and Williams Valley make up the field. Information on the other local schools was unavailable as of press time.
The tournament resumes at 10 a.m. today at Bloomsburg High School with the championship semifinals and third round of consolations. The third- and fifth-place bouts are scheduled for 1 p.m., with the championship finals at 3:30 p.m.
