in Australia
FOUNTAIN SPRINGS — North Schuylkill cross country and track and field runner Chris McCormick will be competing in Australia from July 10-12 as part of the 2015 Down Under Sports Program.
The son of Randy and Justine McCormick, Fountain Springs, Chris will be a junior this fall. He will be representing the United States as a member of the East Conference Track and Field Team and will be competing against international runners.
In its 26th year, the Down Under Sports Program includes competition in wrestling, football, cross country, golf, track and field, basketball and volleyball.

All-Star Game
READING — The Reading Fightin Phils will be represented by five players in the annual Eastern League All-Star Classic set for Wednesday, July 15, at Hadlock Field in Portland, Maine.
Shortstop J.P. Crawford, outfielders Roman Quinn and Cam Perkins, infielder Brock Stassi and starting pitcher Zach Eflin were named to the Eastern Division squad Wednesday. Reading is tied with Portland, Trenton, Akron and Altoona for most All-Star representation.
Eflin, who is 5-4 with a 2.88 ERA in 14 starts with the Fightins, was also named to the United States roster for the upcoming Pan American Games to be held July 10-19 in Toronto, Canada. Eflin is part of a Team USA roster that is comprised of non-40-man roster players to be managed by former L.A. Dodgers and Pittsburgh Pirates skipper Jim Tracy.
